Rules & Regulations

It is equally important to understand the rules of the contest and go through the different templates a participant have to use in the competition. It will also help you to be aware of the important timelines, dos and don’ts etc.

Participants are requested to read all the instructions carefully before registering and submitting their Ideas.

Ideas falling in any of the 14 themes of the event are invited to participate. The Ideas can be in the following 2 stages-

1) Ideation- Participants should have a ground-breaking Idea, with more focus on the changing this Idea into a reality

2) Blooming- Participants should have a Product/Service with a proof of concept or a functional prototype with market trials and customer feedbacks.

1. Registration Process

  • Registration and application submission to be done online only.
  • Any individual/students can apply for the competition. The solution, however, should be a technical solution only.
  • Registrations have been Closed (Please see “Important Dates” section of this document).
  • For Registration, Click on “Registration & Submission Form” tab on the Bihar Ideathon portal i.e. ( Points marked with “*” are mandatory fields.
    2. Team Formation Process
  • There is no restriction in number of teams from a particular college / organization / institution.
  • Team can have a maximum of 6 members
  • Clearly communicate the email-ids and mobile numbers of all team members (While submitting your Idea in pdf format)
  • No individual can be a part of more than one team.

    3. Guidelines for Submission of Idea
  • Ideas to be submitted only in PDF format only (Convert the PPT into PDF and then upload)
  • Presentation to be max of 10 pages in Calibri Font.
  • Presentation should include the following aspect
    • Slide on Team Members (Photo, Name, Designation, Email Id, Phone No. of all Team members)
    • What’s your Big Idea?
    • How can your Idea Change the World?
    • No. of People impacted by the Idea.
    • Resources required to convert your Idea into Reality.
    • Revenue model
    • Risk, Issues and Mitigation plan
    • Any other important information you wish to give.

4. Evaluation of Ideas
The evaluation criteria will include Innovation, feasibility, sustainability, scale of impact, user experience and potential for future work progression. Your solution will be evaluated in the following Stages.

  • Initial Stage: Shortlisting of ideas
  • The Screening committee will evaluate your idea based on the above parameters, post which you will be selected for final round.
  • Selection of winner
  • Participants will showcase their Idea to the jury on the 3rd & 4th of December and based on the above evaluation criteria and Jury discretion the best solutions will be awarded accordingly. Apart from overall merit list, there will be winners in other categories also.

5. General information

  • Participant should reach out to for any sort of general/technical queries.
  • Shortlisted participant will receive email notification.
  • The final round is going to be held in Sardar Patel Bhawan, 401, Opp Patna Golf Club), New Police Bhawan Campus, Rajbansi Nagar,Bailey Road, Patna(see website for details)
  • Important Dates
    • Registrations have been closed
    • Announcement of qualified participants to Final round: 26th November 2018
    • Product demonstration to jury & Award to winners: 3rd & 4th December
